I’m Rachel Clements; nurse, educator, and writer.
I started my nursing career in a cardiac step-down unit where I cared for adult patients with medical needs ranging from heart surgeries to strokes to gastrointestinal issues. After several years in the adult world, I had my first baby which inspired a career shift from big patients to tiny patients, and I began working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
After 7 years of bedside nursing, I now use my specialized nursing knowledge and education in my writing which allows me to reach more patients and families and help them make sense of healthcare information.
In 2020 I received my Masters of Science in Nursing, specializing in nursing education. I have a passion for helping new nurses bridge the gap between nursing school and nursing practice.
I love spending time with my husband and three little kids. I enjoy cooking and eating out, especially trying new recipes and different kinds of food! But most of all, like a true nurse, I like getting a good night’s sleep.
